In the rural villages where God Said Go Missions serves, the future often begins with a small group of children gathered in a simple church building. Sometimes they sit on wooden benches. Sometimes they sit on the floor. But in those moments—through stories, songs, and Scripture—something powerful is happening.
The Next Generations Ministry exists for this very reason: to help pastors and village leaders disciple the children who will one day lead their communities, churches, and families.
While much of our ministry is visible through mobile medical clinics and village development projects, the work with children is quietly shaping the future in ways that may take years—or even generations—to fully see.
Supporting the Leaders Who Shape Young Lives
Since 2022, Julio and Rachel Reyes have served as the Next Generation Directors for God Said Go. Their role focuses on equipping and encouraging the leaders who are investing in children across our partner villages.
They develop teaching materials that pastors and volunteers can use in their children’s programs, including:
Illustrated Bible lesson guides
Large vinyl teaching banners
Bible story coloring sheets for children
Creative teaching tools for village leaders
These resources help make biblical teaching accessible and engaging for children, many of whom have limited access to educational materials.
But the work goes far beyond printing resources.
Julio and Rachel travel regularly to the villages, attending every mobile medical clinic and spending time with pastors and volunteers who lead these children’s groups. On clinic days, Julio often helps drive the ministry vehicle and manages patient registration, while Rachel helps distribute reading glasses and works with children in the villages.
Their work is deeply relational—encouraging local leaders who faithfully serve week after week.
Growth in the Villages
One of the most encouraging signs of this ministry is seeing the children’s groups continue to grow.
In El Rodeo, Pastor Esvin held several special activities in December to engage children and families in the community. The result was remarkable. Attendance in the children’s program has doubled—from around 15 children to nearly 30 regularly attending.
That growth represents far more than numbers. It represents children hearing the Gospel, building friendships in the church, and discovering that they are seen and valued.
A similar story is unfolding in another village. Pastor Dany and Hermana Laydi have also seen a steady increase in attendance at their children’s gatherings. What once averaged around 20 children is now growing toward 30 young participants.
These increases reflect something deeper happening in the villages: families are trusting the church as a safe place for their children to learn and grow.
Expanding to New Villages
As God Said Go continues expanding its monthly ministry footprint in 2026, the Next Generations Ministry is growing alongside it.
This year we will begin supporting children’s groups in three newly added villages:
Venecia
Jabalí
Cantón Miramar
With these additions, the ministry will now be helping support 10 village children’s clubs.
Each of these groups represents dozens of children who will now have regular opportunities to hear the Gospel, build friendships, and grow in faith within their own communities.
Building for the Long Term
Investing in children may be one of the most important ways to break cycles of generational poverty.
When a child grows up hearing about God’s love, learning practical life values, and building relationships within the local church, the impact can echo throughout their entire life.
Today’s child in a village Bible club may become:
Tomorrow’s church leader
A teacher in their community
A parent who raises their own children with faith and hope
This is why the Next Generations Ministry is so important. It isn’t simply about hosting children’s activities. It’s about building a foundation for future generations.
A Future Filled with Hope
Seeing children filling small churches in rural villages is one of the most joyful sights in ministry.
It means the church is alive.
It means families are engaged.
And it means the next generation is beginning to discover the hope found in Christ.
With ten children’s clubs now being supported across our partner villages, we are excited to see how God continues to grow this ministry in the months and years ahead.
The seeds being planted today will shape the future of these communities for generations.
