When Hearts Say “Yes”: A Week of Impact with Celebration Baptist Church

After months of planning, praying, and preparing, a team from Celebration Baptist Church arrived in Guatemala with one simple purpose: to serve.

From the moment they stepped off the plane, there was a sense that this week would be special. Not because of a schedule packed with activities—but because of the hearts that came ready to say “yes” to whatever God had in store.

And He did not disappoint.

Serving Side by Side

Each day began early and ended late, filled with meaningful moments that reminded us why this work matters.

Together, we served in multiple villages through:

  • Free mobile medical clinics
  • Children’s ministry and Bible activities
  • Community outreach and evangelism
  • Soup kitchen and food bag distributions
  • Door-to-door visits to pray with families and share the Gospel

These weren’t just tasks to complete—they were opportunities to connect.

In every village, the team met people not as projects, but as individuals with stories, struggles, and incredible resilience. There were conversations on doorsteps, prayers whispered over families, and children laughing as they played and learned about Jesus.

For many, it wasn’t just about receiving help.

It was about being seen.
Being heard.
Being loved.

The Moments That Matter Most

While hundreds of people were reached throughout the week, it was often the quiet, personal moments that left the deepest impact.

A mother receiving prayer with tears in her eyes.
A child holding tightly to a team member’s hand.
A conversation that turned into a moment of surrender.

We witnessed four people make decisions to follow Christ during the week—but beyond the numbers, it was clear that God was moving in hearts in ways we may never fully see this side of heaven.

Watching Faith Come Alive

One of the most powerful parts of the week was watching the younger members of the team step into something completely new.

At just 13 and 17 years old, this was their first mission trip outside of the United States.

At the beginning, there was hesitation—unsure smiles, quiet observation, and the natural uncertainty that comes with stepping into a new culture.

But that didn’t last long.

By the second day, everything began to change.

Walls came down.
Confidence grew.
Joy took over.

They were no longer watching from the sidelines—they were fully engaged. Playing with children. Serving with purpose. Saying yes to every opportunity in front of them.

It was more than participation.

It was transformation.

And perhaps most exciting of all—they are already talking about coming back.

The Beauty of the Body of Christ

Throughout the week, something even deeper became evident.

Ministry is not just about what we do—it’s about how we do it together.

We watched as relationships formed quickly and deeply. The visiting team and our local team worked side by side, encouraging one another, supporting one another, and serving with unity and grace.

This is what the Body of Christ looks like.

Different backgrounds.
Different experiences.
One mission.

And when that happens, something powerful takes place.

A Grateful Heart

As the team returned home to Tallahassee, our hearts were full.

Full of gratitude for their willingness to come.
Full of joy for the lives that were touched.
Full of anticipation for what God will continue to do.

Weeks like this remind us that short-term mission trips are not just about a moment—they are about movement.

Seeds are planted.
Faith is strengthened.
Lives are changed—on both sides of the journey.

And none of it happens without people who are willing to go.

Thank You for Being Part of the Story

To the team from Celebration Baptist—thank you.

Thank you for your prayers before you came.
Thank you for your willingness to serve.
Thank you for loving people so well.

And to those who support this ministry through prayer and giving—this is your impact too.

You are part of every conversation.
Every prayer.
Every life touched.

Together, we are answering His call.
And together, lives are being transformed.
