Building Hope in El Rodeo: Pastor Esvin’s Dream of a Home Beside the Church

In the village of El Rodeo, nestled on the side of Volcano Pacaya, there was once no evangelical church presence. In 2022, that began to change when Pastor Orillio, full of faith, planted a church on a small piece of land. For years, the congregation gathered under a humble structure made of wooden poles and a metal roof.

Through prayer and perseverance, Pastor Orillio was able to raise funds to build a simple church building. Then, just months ago, he entrusted the care of this growing congregation to Pastor Esvin.

But there’s a challenge. Pastor Esvin and his wife currently live hours away. Their hearts are burdened to move into El Rodeo, to live among their congregation, and to shepherd them fully—teaching, discipling, and bringing the hope of Christ into daily village life.

That’s where we come in.

We are raising $10,000 to build a modest two-room home for Pastor Esvin and his wife, right next to the church. The project also includes a small kitchen and bathrooms that will serve the congregation. Several months ago, a powerful storm destroyed the temporary bathroom structure the church had built, leaving them without even the most basic facilities. This new home and church space will not only meet urgent physical needs but will also strengthen the church’s presence and ministry for years to come.

This is more than a building project. It’s about putting down roots in El Rodeo, equipping a pastor to shepherd his flock, and ensuring the light of the gospel shines brightly in a village that desperately needs it.

✨ Together, we can make Pastor Esvin’s dream a reality.
