Why Adding Three New Villages Changes Everything

At first glance, adding three villages to our monthly ministry program might sound like simple growth.

But for us, it represents something much deeper.

It represents responsibility.

Every village we commit to serving is not simply another location on a map—it is a promise. A promise to show up month after month. A promise to care for people not just once, but consistently. A promise to partner with local churches and walk alongside communities as they grow stronger physically, spiritually, and relationally.

This year, God Said Go Missions will begin serving three new villages in Guatemala as part of our monthly outreach program. While that may seem like expansion, the truth is that it is really about answering invitations.

Because we don’t go where it’s easy.

We go where we’re invited.

Why These Villages?

For months, pastors from several communities have been asking if we could come.

These are villages where families often live hours away from the nearest clinic. Where access to basic medical care is limited or nonexistent. Where chronic conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, infections, and malnutrition often go untreated simply because help is too far away.

But what moves us the most is not the need alone.

It is the heart of the local church.

Our ministry model has always been built on partnership with local pastors and church leaders. We don’t arrive as outsiders trying to lead a community—we come alongside leaders who already love and serve their people faithfully every day.

When a pastor says, “Our village needs help,” we listen carefully.

And when the door opens, we prayerfully step through it.

What Life Is Like in These Communities

Many of the villages we serve are located in rural areas where life is simple but difficult.

Homes are often made of wood, tin, or block with dirt floors. Families rely on farming, day labor, or small market work to survive. Transportation is limited, and many people must travel long distances for medical care—if they can travel at all.

For elderly villagers or families with small children, those barriers often mean one thing:

They simply go without care.

That’s where our mobile medical clinics step in.

Each month our team travels to the village with medical professionals, medications, and supplies. We set up our mobile clinic in the church and spend the day providing consultations, treatments, and prayer for every patient who comes.

Some days we see dozens of patients.

Other days we see over a hundred.

But the most important thing is that we keep coming back.

What Monthly Ministry Actually Looks Like

When a village joins our monthly program, it becomes part of an ongoing relationship—not just a one-time visit.

Each month our team returns to provide:

Free medical consultations
Medication and treatment for chronic conditions
Follow-up care for patients we’ve already seen
Health education and prevention guidance
Prayer and encouragement through the local church

Over time, we begin to know the people by name.

We learn which families are struggling. We follow patients who need long-term care. We celebrate when someone’s health improves.

The impact of consistency cannot be overstated.

Trust grows. Health improves. Churches become stronger centers of care for their communities.

The Commitment Behind the Mission

Adding three villages may sound simple, but each new commitment carries real responsibility.

More patients.

More medications.

More transportation.

More planning.

And more volunteers and partners working behind the scenes to make it possible.

But we believe ministry is not about doing what is convenient—it’s about doing what is faithful.

Every village we serve represents families who now know someone will come back.

Month after month.

Year after year.

A Vision Built on Sustainability

One of the reasons we are able to expand this year is because of something we have been working toward for a long time.

Sustainability.

With the opening of Centro Médico Vida Plena, we are building a model where affordable clinical care helps fund our free village medical clinics.

Instead of depending entirely on donations, the clinic will help generate the resources needed to serve even more communities.

This approach allows us to grow responsibly and continue saying “yes” when pastors invite us into villages that need help.

Walking Forward Together

Adding three villages this year is not a moment of arrival.

It’s simply another step forward in the mission God has placed in front of us.

There are still many communities waiting for help. Many families still struggling without access to care. Many pastors faithfully serving villages with very few resources.

But together—with partners, volunteers, and supporters around the world—we can continue walking into places where hope is needed most.

And when the invitation comes, our answer will remain the same.

We don’t go where it’s easy.

We go where we’re invited.
