Sometimes, ministry doesn’t go according to plan—and that’s exactly where God shows up.
On September 8th, our medical team arrived in the small riverside village of El Brasil, ready for another day of serving families in need. But when they reached the site, something unexpected happened: there was nowhere to set up the clinic.
The local pastor, who normally helps coordinate the space for our team, had fallen seriously ill and was unable to make arrangements that morning. With no building available, the team faced a decision—cancel the clinic or get creative.
Led by Nurse Rocío, they chose faith over frustration.
“We are here in the village of El Brasil ready for our clinic,” Rocío shared in a quick video update that morning. “Today we didn’t have a place to do our clinic. So, we settled on a street that is not so busy where there are trees, and we are ready to start.”
The team found a quiet road near a riverbank—a peaceful spot shaded by trees. They unloaded tables, medicine, and supplies from the truck, and within minutes, the “roadside clinic” was open for business.
Julio began registering patients, the pharmacy was set up under a tree, and soon a line began to form. Mothers, children, and elderly neighbors from the surrounding area began to arrive—each one receiving care, medicine, and prayer.
By the end of the day, 24 patients were treated.
No building. No electricity. Just a quite road, a few trees, and a team determined to serve.
And that’s what makes this ministry so special. Our team doesn’t wait for perfect conditions. They go where the need is—whether it’s a school, a church, or even a quiet stretch of road—because people deserve care, no matter where they live.
This day in El Brasil was more than just another clinic. It was a reminder that the love of Jesus isn’t confined to walls. It flows wherever His people go.
“Where there’s no building,” Rocío said with a smile, “we build hope anyway.”
