Julio and Rachel are the heart behind God Said Go’s Next Generation Ministry, a powerful outreach that serves children suffering from extreme generational poverty across rural Guatemala. Their mission is simple yet life-changing: to equip local churches with the tools, training, and spiritual guidance needed to raise up a generation rooted in Christ.

A Love Story Built on Service
Julio and Rachel’s journey began in 2009 when their shared faith and passion for serving others brought them together. At the time, Julio was running a butcher shop in Santiago, Sacatepéquez, while Rachel—originally from the UK and a former primary school teacher—was leading children’s ministry clubs in rural villages around Guatemala City.
Their individual callings led them deeper into service. Julio later began managing a pig and chicken farm at a local orphanage to help feed the children, while Rachel continued her work discipling kids and training leaders. With the support of their home church, Salem Chapel in Bristol, they have now served in Guatemala together for over a decade—living out a calling to transform lives through compassionate, Christ-centered ministry.
Leading the Future Generation
In 2022, Julio and Rachel joined the God Said Go Missions team, stepping into leadership of the Next Generation Ministry—a program that strengthens village churches by resourcing and supporting the unsung heroes of children’s ministry.
Their ministry includes:
📖 Providing Bible-based curriculum, visual aids, and teaching tools to children’s workers in underserved villages
🙌 Training and encouraging local teachers who are often working with limited resources and little support
🎓 Leading a student sponsorship program to help youth graduate from high school and pursue God’s purpose for their lives
💛 Building long-term relationships with churches to support spiritual growth and holistic development for the next generation
