Statement of Faith
What we beleive
What We Believe
At God Said Go, our faith shapes everything we do. We hold to the foundational truths of the Christian faith as revealed in Scripture and centered on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
One God, Three Persons
We believe in one eternal God who exists in three coequal persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is the Creator, Sustainer, and Redeemer of all things.
(Genesis 1:26; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Revelation 4:8)
God the Creator
God created the world and everything in it. He made humanity—male and female—in His own image, giving us the responsibility to care for His creation.
(Genesis 1:26–31; Colossians 1:16–17; Hebrews 1:1–3)
Jesus Christ, Fully God and Fully Man
We believe that Jesus Christ is both fully God and fully human. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, He lived a sinless life, was crucified, died, and was buried. He rose from the dead in bodily form and ascended to the right hand of God the Father. He is our Savior, and His divine and human natures remain forever united in one Person.
(Psalm 2:2–9; Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:22–23; John 1:1–3, 14; Philippians 2:5–11)
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is fully God, personal and present, at work in the world and in the lives of believers. He draws hearts to Christ, convicts of sin, brings new life, and empowers us for godly living and service.
(John 3:5–8; John 14:16–17, 26; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:13)
The Bible
We believe the Bible—both the Old and New Testaments—is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is the final standard for all we believe and how we live.
(2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:21; Matthew 5:17–18)
Sin and the Human Condition
Since the fall, every person is born with a sinful nature, separated from God, and in need of His grace. On our own, we are under His just judgment.
(Romans 3:9, 23; Ecclesiastes 7:20; John 3:36)
Salvation Through Jesus
Jesus Christ gave His life as a substitute for ours. By His death and the shedding of His blood, He paid the price for the sins of the world. In Him alone we find forgiveness, freedom, and peace with God.
(Isaiah 53:5–6; Romans 5:6–8; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 2:24)
New Birth by Grace
We believe that salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ. It is not earned by good works. Only by the Holy Spirit can we be born again and become children of God.
(John 3:3–8; Ephesians 2:8–9; 1 John 5:1; Titus 3:5–7)
Assurance and Security
Those who trust in Christ are secure in Him. Our assurance comes not from ourselves but from His finished work on the cross. As God’s children, we have the promise of eternal life and the privileges of being part of His family.
(John 10:27–29; Romans 8:38–39; Jude 24–25)
A Life of Obedience
Salvation leads to a transformed life. We are called to live in obedience to God’s Word, doing good works out of love and gratitude. These works will be rewarded in eternity.
(Ephesians 2:10; James 1:22–27; Matthew 25:19–23)
The Church
The true Church is made up of all believers in Jesus Christ, united by the Holy Spirit. Christ is the Head of the Church, and we are His body—called to love, serve, and build one another up.
(Ephesians 1:22–23; Hebrews 12:23)
Baptism and the Lord’s Supper
Jesus gave us two ordinances to observe: baptism, as a public declaration of our faith, and the Lord’s Supper, as a remembrance of His sacrifice.
(Matthew 28:19–20; Luke 22:19–20; 1 Corinthians 11:26)
The Mission of the Church
Our highest calling is to glorify God and share the Good News of Jesus with the world. We are sent to preach the Gospel to every nation and every person.
(Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8; 2 Corinthians 5:18)
Christ’s Return
We believe that Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly, just as He promised.
(John 14:3; Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16)
Resurrection and Eternal Life
There will be a bodily resurrection of all people. Those who are in Christ will enjoy eternal life and joy in God’s presence. Those who reject Him will face eternal separation.
(1 Corinthians 15:44; Philippians 3:20–21; Matthew 25:46; Revelation 21:1–8)
