After several days of outreach, construction, prayer walks, children’s programs, and medical clinics in the villages of San José la Montaña and El Asintal, the team from Teen Quest and York Springs Bible Church continued their mission with just as much energy and joy as the day they arrived.
Monday: Ministry at Colegio Cristiano, Brito – Escuintla
The team traveled to Colegio Cristiano in Brito, Escuintla, where they hosted a medical clinic for families in the surrounding area. Patients were cared for with love, prayer, and basic medical aid that they often can’t access on their own.
In addition to the clinic, the team held two kids’ programs—one for the younger students and another for the teens. There were games, songs, crafts, and testimonies, all centered on reminding each child that they are loved, seen, and valued. Watching these students from Pennsylvania pour out their hearts to other teens across cultures was a powerful reminder that God’s love knows no borders.
Tuesday: A Day to Rest, Reflect, and Rejoice
After a full week of ministry, Tuesday was the team’s fun day—a chance to recharge, explore, and enjoy the beauty and history of Guatemala.
The day began with a visit to a historic convent-turned-museum in Antigua, originally built in the 1750s. In the center of the ruins was a circular room where nuns once chanted their daily prayers. As the team stood in the same space centuries later, they sang “Amazing Grace” together—and the acoustics were unforgettable. A moment of worship became a sacred memory.
From there, it was off to lunch at Rincón Típico, where everyone enjoyed freshly roasted chicken and Coca-Cola in classic glass bottles—a little taste of Guatemalan culture that hit the spot. The afternoon was spent shopping for souvenirs at the Antigua artisan market, followed by a stop in San Lucas for ice cream and true Guatemalan-style pizza.
The day concluded with a bonfire at Rocsana’s Hope, where the team gathered to worship, share testimonies, and reflect on what God had done in their hearts throughout the trip. It was a powerful time of vulnerability, laughter, and tears—marking the end of the trip, but the beginning of something deeper.
Reflections from the Team: A Testimony of Transformation
One of the most touching parts of every mission trip is hearing how God moves in the hearts of those who come to serve. Team members Mike and Sarah Hayes shared this beautiful reflection:
“It was truly an eye-opening experience and a heartwarming/wrenching time. God is truly at work in Guatemala. While we were there, we had the opportunity to go door to door in a mountain village (El Asintal), spreading the Gospel, love, and hope. We helped clean up the area around the church and stucco the unfinished concrete walls, set up a medical clinic, and provide medicines and first aid they don’t have access to. We also helped dig out a foundation for a kitchen addition to a church in San José la Montaña, and there were a lot of kids’ activities in every place we went.”
“What I took from this trip is a better sense of appreciation for what I have here in America, confidence in talking about my testimony and how the Lord has changed my life, and stronger relationships with my church family. Thank you to all who helped make this trip possible by donating.”

Looking Ahead: We Can’t Wait for Your Return!
The impact made by this team—from digging foundations and building relationships, to praying with families, and ministering to children—will continue to ripple through the communities they touched.
We are so thankful for their partnership—not only with God Said Go Missions, but also with our sister ministry, Rocsana’s Hope, where they helped support and encourage young women seeking healing and purpose.
To Teen Quest and York Springs Bible Church: thank you for saying “yes” to this call, and for living out love in action every single day. We are already praying over your return in the future and can’t wait to welcome you back to Guatemala.
