From new plumbing and electrical work to reinforced concrete walls built for safety, every detail is bringing us closer to opening a faith-based medical center that will serve families in need. Progress is happening fast at Centro Médico Vida Plena! This week, our team finished tiling the bathroom, built the exam room walls, and began installing new plumbing and electrical. But hidden beneath the progress came a few surprises — a blocked drain and a cracked support wall that must be rebuilt. Even so, the work continues with faith and determination, knowing every challenge brings us one step closer to opening a medical center that will bring affordable healthcare and lasting hope to families in Escuintla.

This week’s Centro Médico Vida Plena update brings both excitement and frustration! While construction is moving forward and our equipment is on its way to Guatemala, we’ve also run into some unexpected government red tape that’s testing our patience—and our faith. Through it all, we’re trusting God’s perfect timing as we take one more step toward opening a medical center that will bring healing, hope, and the love of Jesus to Escuintla.

Construction has officially begun at Centro Médico Vida Plena! 🚧 Walls are coming down, new layouts are in place, and we’ve hired our general contractor to lead the remodel. Escuintla is located just 56 km from Guatemala City. While the city itself is bustling, many surrounding villages remain remote and underserved. With over 160,000 residents in the department’s urban center alone, the need for reliable health services is overwhelming.
