We want to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who prayed for our recent outreach trip to Quiché, Guatemala. Your prayers carried us through what turned out to be an incredibly long journey—14 hours to reach the villages, and 12 hours back. Long roads, winding mountain passes, and hours in the truck reminded us just how far God calls us to go to share His love.
During our time in Quiché, we hosted two medical clinics—one on Tuesday and another on Wednesday. These clinics provided essential care to families who rarely have access to medical help. But beyond the physical care, what stood out to our team were the precious moments of connection.
One unexpected challenge we faced? Language barriers. Many of the women and children didn’t speak Spanish—they spoke Q’eqchi, a Mayan language. In true God Said Go Missions fashion, we adapted quickly, searching for local translators to help us communicate clearly. It was yet another reminder that meeting people where they are sometimes means learning to listen in ways we hadn’t anticipated.
Rachel Potter de Reyes, our Future Generations Director, shared a special moment from the trip that touched her heart:
“One special moment for me was when a little group of boys came up and asked for me to share a Bible verse. Pastor Jeremias translated with great enthusiasm as I talked about how if we honour God then He will honour us. I told them the story of Eric Liddell, and they all listened intently. I pray God’s word was sown in their hearts.”
Stories like these are why we go. Every mile, every translation challenge, every long clinic day—all of it is worth it to see the seeds of hope and truth planted in young hearts.
As we reflect on this journey to Quiché, we’re reminded that this is what Village Outreach is all about. Bringing practical help. Sharing the love of Jesus. Meeting people right where they are.
Thank you for praying, for supporting, and for being part of this mission. Together, we’re reaching remote places with the message: God loves you. And we’re here because of that love.
